Supports serotonion synthesis for better mood, sleep and appetite control.

Main Information

5-HTP is a natural serotonin precursor extracted from the seeds of Griffonia simplicifolia. It helps support mood balance, reduce anxiety, and promote restful sleep by naturally increasing serotonin levels in the brain.

Scientific Background

5-HTP (5-Hydroxytryptophan) is a naturally occurring amino acid and metabolic intermediate in the biosynthesis of serotonin. It is derived from the seeds of Griffonia simplicifolia and has been widely studied for its role in mood regulation, appetite control, and sleep quality. Once ingested, 5-HTP crosses the blood-brain barrier and is rapidly converted to serotonin, influencing emotional balance and circadian rhythm (Birdsall, 1998). Clinical research has shown that 5-HTP supplementation may support individuals with mild depressive symptoms, stress-related cravings, or disrupted sleep patterns (Shaw et al., 2002). Its non-stimulant profile makes it especially suitable for evening use or as part of a holistic approach to serotonin restoration.
